A Theory of Conspiracies (again)

The gears of justice move slowly and the gears of Jeff’s mind even more so.

Worse still, I said that yesterday when I wrote this, and it hadn’t quite sunk in yet then either! New lede – “conspiracy theory” means hate speech.

In what had been a separate and minor line of thinking for me, I have been saying that conspiracy theories are replacement problems, that they are preferable to the majority view because they redefine the problem as much smaller, you know, it’s not that we’re alone in an unimaginably vast universe of space, rock, and fire – it’s that a few thousand atheists just want you to think that and so they faked the moon trip. It’s not that humans have a billion fires burning constantly warming the planet – it’s (again) a few thousand people selling some lie for . . . why, again? For their academic salaries, right, I forgot. I mean, I forgot for a reason, salaries are not corruption, or bribery! When we’re talking about the Petro-economy, academic salaries are not where the money driving things is!

Smaller problems, fixable problems, a few hundred, a few thousand conspirators instead of the whole human race and their systems.

Well, my majority line of thought finally heard this one and stepped in, of course the replacement problem is smaller, but that’s not the point. The point is the replacement problem has a name and an address. The point is the replacement problem is a relatively small group of humans and it maybe doesn’t need to be said and that’s why no-one says it, but we have always had the answer for that particular problem, smaller groups of humans.

You see, the problem with the climate scientists, in this “theory” is that they are drawing a salary, buying food and shelter with it, and so staying alive. I was wrong, it’s not too stupid too address – rather, it’s too horrible to contemplate. (This, unfortunately, is probably true of a lot of the Right’s “empty” talking points.) So, conspiracy theories are violent, fascist, of course they are. That’s why they proliferate so easily, we have a lot of hard and software for that sort of problem.

Conspiracy theories are when you replace a problem with a kill list, a bunch of “them” to “do something” about. Hate speech, definitively.

The American First Amendment protects Americans’ right to say what they like, but I understand there’s a clause for hate speech, that once the violence is “immanent,” speech encouraging it is supposed to be restricted, and Rachel’s abortion special last evening really made the point that no one is prosecuting that law, because abortion doctors have been murdered and politicians still use blood libel rhetoric and get elected rather than go to jail with gag orders. So, frankly, I’m probably late worrying about the climate scientists, they’re probably being killed too, is that right?

After all, we’ve already gotten used to the idea that some of the population thinks they don’t deserve to eat, by listening to the propaganda that has always been against the law and fills the news cycles.

Being topical and political and somewhat current, some mention of the most common use of the euphemism these days is called for, they’re saying it a lot, and today, “conspiracy theory” seems to be code for being on the Russian side of the war in Ukraine, and the Ukraine is an official ally and Russia an official adversary, so this “whacko conspiracy theory” is about killing American allies. But if you own the media, then they don’t say “traitors,” they just portray you as confused and demented and “believing in conspiracy theories.”

As though we aren’t talking about the people in the theories, the ones who were there, who are there. They’re so old and funny they believe “conspiracy theories” about themselves, we are to . . . “understand,” I guess is the word that’s supposed to go at the end of a sentence like that, in a normal world.

Sure, it’s the reason for most of it, entertainment, sport, news and conspiracy. People don’t like looking at their lives. Or – with conspiracies – at problems they can actually fix, it’s also that a lot of people – like relgion – like to think they know what’s ‘really going on’ – repent! The apocalypse is next Tuesday at 3.33am during the blood moon and planetary alignment.

Thanks, sorry I didn’t read the changes earlier it’s been a mad rush for Saturnalia. This madness is part of why I gave up on politics and blogging in general, the mad accuse you of madness, the evil tell you you are evil and the masses ready the pyre.

The reason I locked my blog was because I’m not sure I want people to read it, other than you, Zaph, Kyle and recently Phoebe, most of the time I’m just having a winge or shaking my internal fist. I like to muse but a few times I’ve raised the ire of those who are on the hunt for witches to burn so their butt hurt goes away – I assume.

You’d have seen the latest, a guy I initially thought was a lezzo, science liker atheist etc. Smart, I thought, yay someone else to talk shit to. Other than being rude to my guests, something I won’t take he then started blaming science for attacking the good folk who stare into statues and hear voices. Dawkins is a meanie and is trying to destroy the world. Then he went on to keep bagging science and what would we know the universe is a dance apparently.

Fuck off I’m done with all this. So rather than address his every concern as I was doing, and typically for the zealous he never acknowledged anything I said but hopped to other meanie things we’d done like the holocaust, and genetic tampering in our single minded pursuit of white power.

        Dafauq?

SO it’s nice to have that off my chest.

You see all that stuff where the right claim that the KKK was founded by the Dems therefore they are liars. That’s the sort of thing the do and it’s more the media than the politicians because the media gives substance to their bullshit. The left are at the same time violent and genocidal but also snowflakes and pussies.

I really do want to go to another planet, this one is mad.

oh, Man! I hate to say it, but – you got sucked into THAT after all this time? They must have really long gamed it, wow. Oh, wait, no-one went at it so openly back in our Thoughts days, did they? Fuckin’ Hell. Amazing what passes for an ideology among the home schooled, none of their shit even agrees with itself for two sentences in a row. This has been my basic problem my whole life: what passes for causality for the low IQ folks often doesn’t look like causality to me AND THEREFORE, UNLIKE YOUR LESS GIFTED FOLKS I’VE BASICALLY NEVER HAD ANYTHING ADEQUATELY EXPLAINED TO ME.
Does that sound possible? Shouting, not at you, of course.
Social media, it all makes you feel like you’ve got a voice and yet our voice moves nothing, but I sort of feel that much of what’s going so wrong is going that way on my watch, sort of, you know?

Aye Aye I did, that shit makes me tired, it wasn’t long con-ish either, I let my guard down thinking – Ok you’re mental but you seem nice. I’ve been away from the city too long, that shit’s going to get me raped, stabbed and in a dumptser soon.

All I wanted for Christmas was more pot.

I’m pretty sure social media is as close to what 1984 was about as anything has gotten so far, a thing that n the surface is supposed to unity humanity and keep tabs on the bad people – run by people who would sell anything to anyone for a price. When someone sends me a meme I can’t help but think of Koney2012.

I’m going to drink now until someone tells me it’s safe.

cooked an entire American style turkey dinner and now I’m trying to eat some of it. I’ll have leftovers for a week, that’s the point. Ate a spoonful of hashish last night, and had a very positive time and a decent bit of sleep!

Good for you, I spent most of the day before yesterday getting stuff together and a part of yesterday morning helping cook, I also have enough in the fridge for a while which is good. I’ll stay in my hobbit hole for a while. You ate hash? That I have never done, cookies yes but the stuff itself – mind you it’s been years since I’ve seen hash – its not a big thing here.

a rare thing in the old days here on the west coast, they talked about it in Toronto and Montreal, it came from across the Atlantic. I used to love the taste of smoking black hash with tobacco, I’ve never smoked just tobacco. But I bought a modern, locally made chunk for my birthday, and I vape, I don’t like to smoke as such anymore, so I cut a gram or so up fine and just swallowed it with something sweet to get it down, I figure I’ll do that once in awhile, on a full stomach, I find it hurts on an empty one, burns a little in the mouth if you chew it. Felt positive. Woke up in the wee hours for a pee and a water, feeling weirdly clear as can be, but fell right back to sleep OK, as though I’d just finished a session.

I did hear a rumour in the eighties, in a “dictionary of drugs,” I think, that the combination of hash and tobacco is supposed to be particularly unhealthy, though, like additive or multiplicative in terms of smoking cancers. That’s why I’m not out buying a pack of cigarettes to go with this chunk myself.

what this blog missed about conspiracy theories is this – this shit is just propaganda, it comes from power. Conspiracy theories were OURS, goddammit, the powerless’ theories about power, not the other way around.

              Really? “Believed” it?
People “believe” literally anything, anti-Christ or close enough guy reverses himself in a single day, and they “believe” both! I am starting to have some serious doubts about the nature of belief, to type a sentence from at least a whole century away!
My best buddy through my teens, my friend in the Yukon, he liked to take any stance and just argue for fun, that’s how I’ve been taking the flat Earthers, but he’s playing it to the hilt?
On another line altogether, I guess it is exactly that trusting attitude put me in this here dumpster. I’m embarrassed, my post-mortem/self discovery trip seems to be taking a cliche turn. I mean, the male sexuality/learn to feel trip isn’t me, and anyone who tried to tell me so was blind, but the other cliche is me, I guess: sensitive, and some artificial life because that is not a viable thing to be.
the impeachment business and all the Nixon comparisons reminded me of a song, it was January, ’72 when it peaked, “Sunshine (Go Away Today),” Johnathan Edwards, and it’s a celebration of that impeachment, here’s the lyrics

Sunshine go away today, I don’t feel much like dancin’.
Some man’s gone, he’s tried to run my life, I don’t what he’s askin’.
He tells me I’d better get in line, can’t hear what he’s saying
When I grow up I’m going to make it mine, but these ain’t dues I been paying
              [Chorus]
How much does it cost? (I’ll buy it)
The time is all we’ve lost (I’ll try it)
He can’t even run his own life,
I’ll be damned if he’ll run mine, Sunshine.
              [Verse]
Sunshine go away today, I don’t feel much like dancin’.
Some man’s gone, he’s tried to run my life, don’t believe what he’s askin’.
Working starts to make me wonder where the fruits of what I do are going
He says in love and war all is fair, He’s got cards he ain’t showin’.
              [Chorus]
How much does it cost? (I’ll buy it)
The time is all we’ve lost (I’ll try it)
He can’t even run his own life,
I’ll be damned if he’ll run mine, Sunshine.
              [Verse]
Sunshine come on back another day, I promise you I’ll be singin’.
This old world, she’s gonna turn around, brand new bells’ll be ringin’.

so I turned eleven just before that song peaked. I played it for Twitter, more than once, sent the YouTube of the original, never got a like, a peep, like no-one had ever heard of it, before I realized a few things, one – that was 48 freaking years ago!
and two – I was too young to have cared so much about that song at the time and to remember it as important and such. Me, feeling Nixon, at eleven. I do remember that my thoughts about it at the time were private, I don’t remember people talking about the song. Just me, little dreamer, clueless, worried about Nixon, WTF.
Been telling myself lately that THAT’S what I’m battling, the temptation to finally toughen up and hate some, that I’m fighting the temptation to get old and bitter and such . . . but I suppose it may be more to the point to say if you haven’t figured it out by fifty-nine, you’re never going to, that I’m fooling myself if I think that option is really there for me. OTOH, I’m seeing how the ladies haven’t been my friends and I still do not love the boys.

              So I don’t know.

Yep, just believed, despite any and all evidence, but like god(s).

I have serious doubts about stupidity now, the mind at some stage is like concrete mix then it goes solid, sometimes in the shape of art sometimes in the shape of a giant cock.

That made me smile, I think of Britney spears as old and nostalgic, Oops I did it Again was released when I was eight I think, I still have a soft spot for that old nut bag. Bill Clinton didn’t have sex with that woman that year and the ISS started it’s life – I was going to go there I was sure.

When I looked at Monica and Bill I couldn’t work out which one made me more ill – the thought of sex with either made me sick.

Now, dear god how things got worse.

Still I got to be a scientist before the end of life on Earth. Cheers and happy new year, the world is on fire all we can do is dance. x

Yeah, me too, I got the answers to my major questions before it all ended. My answer may have helped if someone had thought of it before the renaissance or something, before public education, before a lotta tech, then with 500 more years, maybe we avoided this, but what was a revelation to me will be clear to all soon and it’s all too late.
Is it true, what they’re saying on Twitter, the government isn’t trying, like to save the forests, or are they just talking a bout long term stuff, government didn’t stop climate change?

Yeah most of the fires here are too big to fight we’ve lost basically Belgium so far to fire and there’s no end in sight. The real punch is that our ‘fire season’ has barely started we have six-eight weeks of hot weather to go. The government has just released an add telling us what a great job they’ve done – waiting an entire fucking month to get the military involved. It’s fucked up here it really is the bastards are still denying it has anything to do with climate change and that they’ve done anything wrong – despite having halved the fire-fighting budget a year ago.

                Good times.
